"I thought there was a gift for me..."

That is what my eight year old said this morning as he was looking under the tree.  I have been wrapping the gifts and putting them under the tree even though I have not finished shopping.  He had looked yesterday and seen one with his name but this morning did not see it.  No big deal right?  Mom isn't done shopping yet.
About 20 minutes later my ten year old says "This is funny.  This tag says John but the J is backwards and it's the wrong color."
We all look at John, who is five and still learning to write his letters correctly and start cracking up!  How in the world can a kid who still can't play hide and seek because he giggles too much pull off a trick like that without giving himself away?!  And how do you punish a kid for trying to steal his brothers gift after you laugh so hard you are crying?  I'm guessing you don't.
Luckily he didn't remove the original tag.  Just covered it up.  So I don't have to try and guess which kid it belongs to.
